Two-Year Product Warranty

Last updated: 8 September 2026

1. Our Warranty

Oz Camp Adventure Gear is operated by Gavin Tuo, a sole trader trading as Oz Camp Adventure Gear (ABN: 89 832 880 397).

We provide a two-year express warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for our rooftop tents and awnings.

This warranty applies to products purchased directly from Oz Camp Adventure Gear and begins on the date the product is delivered to or collected by the original purchaser.

The express warranty period is 24 months.

This warranty is provided in addition to your rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

2. What Is Covered

This warranty covers manufacturing defects that arise during normal and intended use of the product.

Covered defects may include issues with:

  • Structural frames, shells, hinges and opening mechanisms

  • Fabric, stitching, seams and zippers

  • Supplied mounting brackets and hardware

  • Factory-installed electrical components and lighting

  • Other supplied components where the failure is caused by defective materials or workmanship

Warranty coverage is subject to the installation, use, maintenance and care requirements set out in this policy and the supplied product instructions.

3. Warranty Remedies

For an accepted warranty claim, we may, at our discretion and subject to applicable law:

  • Repair the product

  • Replace the defective component

  • Replace the product

  • Provide another appropriate remedy

Where an original replacement part is unavailable, we may provide an equivalent suitable replacement part.

Where the Australian Consumer Law gives you a right to choose a particular remedy, including in the case of a major failure, that right is not restricted by this express warranty.

4. Installation and Approved Mounting Hardware

All products must be installed in accordance with the supplied instructions and any applicable requirements from the vehicle, roof-rack or accessory manufacturer.

Only use mounting brackets, hardware and structural components supplied with the product or expressly approved in writing by Oz Camp Adventure Gear.

Customers must not drill, weld, cut, bend, modify or substitute structural components or mounting hardware without prior written approval.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Awning brackets

  • Roof-rack mounting systems

  • Rooftop tent frames

  • Load-bearing components

Awning brackets must meet the minimum mounting points, spacing and support requirements specified in the relevant product manual.

Customers are responsible for confirming that their vehicle, roof rack and mounting system are suitable for the product.

Professional installation is recommended if you are unsure about installation requirements or compatibility.

Incorrect installation, unapproved hardware or unauthorised modification may exclude a warranty claim where it causes or contributes to the failure.

However, unrelated manufacturing defects and statutory consumer rights are not automatically excluded.

5. Vehicle and Load Compatibility

Before installation, customers must confirm the applicable:

  • Static roof-load rating

  • Dynamic roof-load rating

  • Roof-rack capacity

  • Vehicle manufacturer’s restrictions

  • Product load ratings

Do not exceed any applicable rated capacity.

Products must be properly secured and inspected in accordance with the supplied instructions.

Damage caused by unsuitable mounting systems, overloading or incorrect installation is excluded from this express warranty to the extent that those circumstances cause or contribute to the damage.

6. Warranty Exclusions

The express warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by:

  • Incorrect installation or failure to follow supplied instructions

  • Unapproved mounting hardware or structural modifications where they cause or contribute to the failure

  • Exceeding vehicle, roof-rack or product load ratings

  • Accidents, impacts or collisions

  • Misuse or neglect

  • Use outside the product’s intended purpose

  • Severe weather, including use contrary to supplied weather and safety instructions

  • Improper storage

  • Failure to properly dry, clean or maintain the product

  • Failure to follow reasonable care instructions

  • Normal wear and tear, including ordinary cosmetic deterioration consistent with normal use

  • Unauthorised repairs or alterations where they cause or contribute to the defect

  • Incompatible third-party accessories or equipment where they cause or contribute to the damage

These exclusions apply only to the extent that the relevant circumstance caused or contributed to the issue.

They do not automatically exclude unrelated manufacturing defects or rights available under Australian Consumer Law.

7. Making a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim, contact us using the details provided below.

Please provide:

  • Your name

  • Order number or other proof of purchase

  • A description of the issue

  • Photographs or video of the issue, where reasonably available

We may request relevant information about the product’s installation, maintenance or use, or arrange an inspection where reasonably necessary.

We will explain the claim process and any information required.

Claims under this express warranty should be made within the 24-month warranty period.

Please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering an issue.

Delayed notification does not automatically invalidate a warranty claim, and no time limit under this express warranty restricts your statutory rights under Australian Consumer Law.

8. Claim Expenses and Freight

We cover reasonable costs associated with remedies under this express warranty, including reasonable transport costs for an accepted manufacturing-defect claim.

For large, heavy or difficult-to-return products, we will arrange collection or pay reasonable transport costs where required by Australian Consumer Law.

Please contact us before arranging freight so we can organise a suitable return or collection method.

Where required by law, reasonable return costs already incurred for a confirmed fault will be reimbursed.

If an assessment establishes that an issue is not covered by this express warranty or an applicable consumer guarantee, we will discuss any proposed return, assessment or transport costs with you before proceeding.

We will not impose fees that unlawfully restrict or limit your consumer rights.

9. Repairs and Replacement Parts

We may supply replacement parts or arrange repairs through an approved repairer.

Customers should not undertake structural repairs or arrange third-party repairs without contacting us first, unless doing so is reasonably necessary to address an immediate safety issue or prevent further damage.

Replacement parts are covered for the remainder of the original express warranty period or for any additional period required by law.

Your statutory rights relating to repaired or replacement goods remain unaffected.

10. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits provided by this express warranty are in addition to the other rights and remedies available to you under Australian Consumer Law.

Your statutory rights may continue beyond the two-year express warranty period, depending on the product, the nature of the failure and the circumstances.

Nothing in this warranty policy limits or excludes those rights.
